World Governing Bodies
BWWA is building its international recognition pathway with the bodies below — affiliation status varies by discipline and is confirmed on an ongoing basis.
Discipline Pathway
International Kurash Association
Founded in Tashkent in 1998, the IKA governs the Kurash belt-wrestling style and has driven its inclusion at the Asian Games since 2018.
Discipline Pathway
International Belt Wrestling Association
Runs belt wrestling’s world championship as part of the Worldwide Nomad Games — a key international pathway for BWWA’s belt wrestling athletes.
Affiliation Pathway
JJIF — Ju-Jitsu International Federation
Part of BWWA’s broader international affiliation strategy toward global recognition, referenced in the President’s Message.
Discipline Pathway
Köräş World Federation
Runs the annual Köräş Belt Wrestling World Championship in Tatarstan, Russia — one of several international belt-wrestling competition structures.
